Explosion of Happy
An emotive picture book with a strong message about how in times of sadness, a thoughtful act can make a big impact.
The illustrations are bright and cheerful except where the grandma is sad, which eventually turns colourful as well. Small details in the illustrations give hints of why the grandma is sad, but it’s never told in the story. That adds an extra layer for the reader to discover. We completed the “explosion” with a matching “happily-expoded” barcode design.
